A Little Backstory
The BOOT—Growing up in the countryside of Tracy, CA, I remember watching my dad come home from work in his boots. I remember helping him remove them as he sat down with his dusty cowboy hat to rest. I remember thinking I would be in cowboy boots like my dad and grandpa Rocha someday. The years passed, and I always admired boots but never wore them.
Now that I'm older, boots once again grabbed my attention, and in November of 2023, I walked into a boot store and purchased my first pair of boots. It changed my life. I've worn boots every day since then. They felt cool, comfortable, stylish, and back to my roots. Especially with my mother's side from Texas and my father's from Arizona. With their grandparents from Guanajuato, Mexico, on both sides. As I began to learn about boots and different styles, I couldn't find any Christian faith-based boot companies. I searched and searched with no avail.
The NAME—In the year 2000, my wife Sharon and her brother Luis had it set in their hearts to launch an apparel company named TrueWear Inc., and until Sharon launched the Identified T-shirts with the crosses in the back in 2016, it birthed everything else. That’s when I decided to sell a few of my paintings and invest in designing men's and women's boots with my wife, Sharon, for people who want to express their love for Jesus through their boots. I couldn't think of a better name for the brand than TrueWear, the name Sharon and her brother had dreamed of years ago.
We are now excited to launch our first models, with inspiring designs on the outside and great comfort on the inside. You will not find a boot more comfortable than our handmade TrueWear Western boots. This has taken months of planning, and we are officially sharing our first designs for men. Women's designs are coming soon.
